A FELLOWSHIP IN CHURCH AND ON THE AIR
Lynden Fellowship Reformed Church welcomes your fellowship with them at LFRC in Lynden and on KARI each Sunday at 5:00PM.
Pastor
Meindert Joostens, pictured at left, emigrated from the Netherlands
with his parents to California in 1958. Graduating from
seminary in 1973 at Grand Rapids, he took his first charge to Faith
Protestant Reformed Church in Jenison, Michigan. He pastured
this flock for five years and took a call to First Protestant
Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, where he stayed for 17 years until
moving to Lynden, Washington in 1995. Rev. Joostens and his
wife, Beverly, have five children.
Lynden Fellowship Reformed Church is a diverse group of believers who hold dear the Christian faith, and the strength and comfort that it gives to us as Christians. Our Mission as a Church is primarily the Glory of God. By Preaching His Word from Sunday to Sunday, along with faithfully catechizing our children and administrating the Sacraments, we continually strive to achieve this goal. We also seek to spread the Word of God to others through our personal witness to them. In an effort to spread the Gospel, we record and broadcast our services weekly on KARI 550AM. We hope and pray that through these means the Lord will touch the hearts of his people both again and for the first time.
As a church we have focused our mission activities on the small island of Jamaica, having regular contacts with 5 primary churches on the island. We also visit the island once or twice per year with a group from our church. Mission activities include providing clothing and other basic needs, supplying song books and other church materials, teaching Bible classes and Sunday school lessons to the children, plus construction and repair of houses and church buildings. We are thankful for the opportunity to help those in need beyond the pale of our congregation here in Lynden.
We fellowship together weekly on Sundays, bi-weekly in Bible Study, and in each others homes as we have time. Our church consists of many young people, couples, individuals, and families, including a group of seniors who meet regularly for potlucks, singing, and various activities. We were organized as a church family on January, 21, 2001, and continue to fellowship and worship with each other with the love and respect that the scripture demands. We put much thought into our name "fellowship", and we take pride in welcoming visitors with open arms to our church. Feel free to visit our church and fellowship with our church family.
